The potential new facility of up to 10,000 megawatts would be an enormous project, and I would want to see the full business case, the cost of running it, the projected impact on electricity rates, environmental and safety assessments, and meaningful consultation with the surrounding municipalities, residents and Indigenous communities before deciding whether a project of that scale makes sense.
From Brighton’s perspective, we’re close enough that we should be paying attention and making sure our residents’ interests are represented as that process moves forward.
